to say vaccines are good is a blanket statement - obviously the process of intra-venous (I and others remember being inoculated intra-venously when young, now it is done intra-muscularly) vaccination has proven itself to be effective in multiple circumstances, through multiple vaccination campaigns, reducing instances of tetanus\polio\measles etc to zero(!) that does not mean there is no room for ill-application of this valuable component of modern 21-st century medicine.
a common side effect described for all vaccines is an immune reaction, with this we can immediately determine that somewhere in the body there is inflammation of tissues - however marginal, inflammation means cellular damage. in cases of vulnerability (developing children, elderly, health complications) cellular damage to a critical cellular network or junction (say, fundamental developing brain cells, conductive nodes on heart, etc etc etc) can mean serious and irreparable health consequences. for examples, given that we all develop differently, how is one age a suitable date for all children to be vaccinated? knowing at what stage their brain can safely sustain damage is a thing of the future (especially considering variables like genetics, size/weight of baby etc) also, who is to tell how far an elderly person is from senility? can we really afford to gamble compromising what critical grey-matter junctions they might be relying on, to protect them from "influenza virus"? which is just a collection of what geese migrating through Asia were sick with this year - virus's in your own back yard being a more suitable target for immunization.
another important example of vulnerable persons not suitable for vaccination are those with compromised immune systems. I don't just persons with HIV/AIDS but anyone who is even feeling under the weather should not have their blood diluted by much anything! let alone something that will distract white blood cells, who are already working hard to keep cancering cells at bay, or, working to reduce the inner prevelance of 1 of the 1,000,000's of virus's this person DIDN'T vaccinate against, to a minimum.
if a young adult is healthy enough to be vaccinated, they should be celebrated , rather than the other way around which is the case today - a sick young adult, blamed and criticized for NOT receiving an influenza vaccination.
the real key is to keep a healthy immune system - sleep, breathe, and steamed vegetables.
I since learned the vaccine schedule is applied intra-muscularly
ReplyDeletethis doesn't change my opinion that the MMR vaccine is the only one that ever had any merit.
